Healthy Aging
Living Long and Living Well in the 21st Century
What do healthy centenarians from around the world have to tell us about living long and living well in the 21st century? How do these successful aging populations from around the world live functionally into their 90s and 100’s? What are the common diet, exercise, lifestyle, social and spiritual threads that connect these different populations from around the world and prevent and delay the chronic diseases plaguing modern societies?
The answers are straightforward and can be adapted to the busy Western lifestyle. Emphasis on prevention of sarcopenia (muscle loss), the importance of strength training, and key supplements such as vitamin D, vitamin B12, folic acid, acetyl-carnitine, N-acetylcysteine, SAMe, DHEA and others will be discussed. As these populations diminish due to modernization and Westernization we are extremely fortunate that their legacy has been documented and many are still living to share these basics of longevity and good health.
Join us for this FREE important talk and presentation, followed by a Question and Answer session that you can participate in.

Preventing and Reversing
Heart Disease
Putting The World’s #1 Killer To Rest
Heart disease, the United States and World’s #1 killer, can be prevented and reversed by the application of a strict diet, exercise and stress management practices. Even severe heart disease patients can have reversal of their condition. Healthy aging populations have dramatically reduced the incidence of heart disease when following their traditional lifestyle, while younger generations adopting the modern Western diet and lifestyle are getting heart disease at the same rate as those in the West.
The solution is not genetics! It’s what we eat, how much we move and how we think that leads to the World’s #1, but needless killer, heart disease. Credible and proven physician directed programs will be discussed along with important and simple cardiovascular screening tests that can be done at any physician’s office to show progress and disease risk. This will be a practical how to talk for those who are committed. Lifesaving results can be achieved.

What Can Gorillas Teach Us
About Weight Loss?
Reversing the Obesity Epidemic with the Gorilla Diet and Weight Loss Program
Everyone realizes the U.S. has an obesity crisis. Just look at the person holding the shopping cart next to you at the check-out line. Look at what is in the cart, look at their physical appearance. It’s obvious. Our children are also gaining weight at an alarming rate. Developing countries adopting the Western Diet have skyrocketing obesity and subsequent chronic disease.
The long term solution is healthy dietary and exercise practices, not short term weight loss. Excess calories lead to obesity, inflammation, and all the chronic diseases which are taxing our health care system to it’s breaking point, not to mention our individual economic well being. If we conquer obesity we will wipe out the chronic killer diseases!
Applying daily the “9 Simple Steps of Optimal Health” will lead to a lean, fit and healthy world. If you want to lose weight fast, safely and in a healthful way then apply lessons learn from our precious primate cousin, the lean and muscular gorilla. The “Gorilla‘s Diet” is a plant-based, nutrient-rich diet that holds the simple secrets to rapid and healthy weight loss.
This talk will emphasize the concepts of low calorically dense and high nutrient dense diets using the overwhelming data on the value of unrefined plant-based diets in the context of changing basic individual metabolic energy expenditure through diet and exercise. A review of why healthy aging populations (80-110 years old) from Okinawa, Costa Rica, Sardinia (Italy), Loma Linda (Adventists in USA), Pakistan (Hunzas), Caucasus south of Russia (Abkhasians) and Ecuador (Vilcabambans) stay lean. What are their simple, time-tested secrets?

The Disease That Doesn’t Have
to Happen
Reversing the Diabetes Epidemic
Adult onset diabetes is occurring in epidemic proportions worldwide as cultures adopt the Western lifestyle. Even grade school children in the U.S. are developing adult onset diabetes. This disease is a silent killer leading to heart disease, hypertension, vision loss, painful neurologic conditions, hospitalization, and premature death. The economic cost to you, our government, and the world is enormous.
Most all of adult onset diabetes is preventable and reversible with an aggressive whole food, plant-based diet and exercise program that leads to weight normalization. The “carbohydrate myth” that carbs cause diabetes will be expelled. The concept of ‘intramyocellular” lipid accumulation (fat in the cell) and how this effects insulin resistance will be discussed. How more healthy mitochondria (carburetors/engines within the cell) are needed for healthy blood sugar control, and how they are inhibited by high fat diets and lack of exercise will be simply explained. Simple diet and exercise strategies could save billions of dollars in personal and total health-care cost, not to mention the long-term suffering from this condition. Type II diabetes is truly "the epidemic" that doesn't have to happen!
These principles will also help Type I, or insulin dependent diabetics, have better blood sugar control, reduce insulin need and reduce their risk to the long-term adverse health effects of diabetes, which can be debilitating. The vitamin D and cow’s milk theories on prevention of type I diabetes will be explored.
