Myomin© Natural Herbal Supplement For Women and Men Myomin is an all natural formula of Chinese herbs that has been shown to help metabolize unhealthy estrogens and promote proper hormonal balance. Studies show that it also inhibits aromatase, an enzyme that converts androgens (testosterone) into estrogen. Importance of Estrogen Balance in Women and Men

The primary role of estrogen for women is to maintain the growth and function of the uterus so that the sex organs can become adult sized, and prepares the uterine lining to accept an egg.  Good estrogens have a positive affect on skeletal growth, skin, fat and protein deposition, and electrolyte balance for both women and men. 

We know through scientific discoveries that many different estrogens are produced by the body and it can be very difficult to maintain a healthy estrogen balance. For women in the pre and peri menopausal years, circulating estrogens can fluctuate having both good and bad influences. During menopause, naturally produced estrogen levels drop up to 60%; however, many women remain estrogen dominant due to the reduction in natural progesterone, and/or the increase through hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and exposure to environmental estrogens, just to name a few. Regardless of the cause(s), estrogen dominace can have a negative impact on our overall health, since it can manifest as a variety of different symptoms and conditions.

Myomin reduces estradiol and increases the 2/16 ratio

New case reports illustrate that Myomin not only reduces estradiol, it also increases the 2/16 estrogen metabolite ratio. A higher 2/16 ratio is associated with a decreased risk for estrogen-related neoplasms.

Case studies per Chi Innerprizes

• Oct 2008 - J. Iannetta, DC from ME, has a 57-year-old female patient who had vaginal bleeding. A test on August 18, 2007 showed that she had very high estradiol level for her age: 413 pg/ml. On October 2, 2008, after taking Myomin for 14 months, her estradiol level has reduced significantly to 43 pg/ml. 
  
  
• J. Wright, MD from WA, has a male patient who took Myomin for 4 months. His estrogen level has sharply dropped.
  
  
• R. Bernhoft, R. Bernhoft, MD from CA, has a 50-year-old male patient with elevated estradiol and abnormal PSA levels. He took Myomin and Prosta Chi for 3 months and his estradiol returned to normal. His abnormal PSA level has reduced to 1.6 after a year.
  
  
• Sep 2008 - E. Schlabach, DC from OH, reports that according to many patient urine lab tests, Myomin at 9 capsules per day not only can reduce estradiol but also can increase the 2/16 estrogen metabolite ratio quickly. Readings ranged from 1.0-0.6 before taking Myomin. After two weeks of taking Myomin the ratio increased to over 2.0 to 6.0.
  
  
• Aug 2008 - B. Sanborn, DC from MI, reported on a 16-year-old male patient with gynecomastia. His estradiol and DHT levels were both high. Myomin - Aromatase Inhibitor for Women and Men

Myomin is a natural aromatase inhibitor that reduces estradiol in both men and women. Aromotase is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of estrogen. Myomin, DIM and Progesterone Cream

Myomin can be used to help those who suffer from estrogen dominant conditions and related symptoms, such as:

Differences Between Myomin and DIM

Myomin is a formula of Chinese herbs that has been shown to metabolize excess unhealthy estrogen and acts as an aromatase inhibitor, as previously mentioned.  Hospital research has shown that Myomin helps to reduce both the number and size of fibroids, fibrocystic breast cysts, and ovarian cysts.  This formula also contains herbs that are touted by the PDR for Nutritional Supplements as having anti-tumor properties. 

Myomin is often suggested for those who are menopausal to post-menopausal because it is not as strong of a metabolizer as DIM; although, Myomin can be used by premenopausal women, as well. 

DIM is a blend of cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts.   Research shows it helps metabolize unhealthy circulating estrogens (estrone, estradiol) into the good form (estriol) for both women and men.  Like Myomin, it too is considered an aromatase inhibitor.  DIM is generally recommended for those who are menstruating (twenties and early thirties) or premenopausal (mid-thirties on) with higher estrogen levels. 

Myomin does have actions that differ from DIM; therefore, some women choose to take them together for a more aggressive approach. For example, Myomin contains sarsaparilla that can help support over-worked adrenal glands. It also contains curcumin; according to the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR) for Nutritional Supplements, “curcumin and other curcuminoids have been found to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal, and immune-modulating effects”.

Having an initial hormone test can help determine how much estrogen metabolizing one may need and will establish baseline results that can be used as a comparison for future tests.  Periodic hormone testing can allow for any necessary dosage adjustments regarding the intake of DIM and/or Myomin. 

Balance is the key to hormonal health; therefore, it is a good idea not to exceed the recommended doses on the product labels and watch out for signs of over metabolizing your estrogen.  A good indication that estrogen has been over metabolized would be hot flashing that did not occur prior to adding DIM and/or Myomin to your regimen. 

It is very important to understand that what may be true for one person is not necessarily true for another. The journey of hormonal changes is an individual one. What this also implies is that the usage of products for one individual can be quite different from that of another.

Note: Those taking DIM and/or Myomin for estrogen dominance and do not experience a reduction in symptoms or unhealthy estrogen levels may want to consider adding Calcium D-Glucarate to their regimen. Myomin Research

"A human study involved 60 post menopausal women with cysts.  Post menopausal women were studied because their estradiol levels are more stable than those of premenopausal women.  Initially, the average estradiol level was 74.58 pg/ml.  After only 10 days on Myomin, their average estradiol level reduced to 38.84 pg/ml.  The fibroids, cysts, and the associated pain gradually reduced.”

"Another study was conducted on both pre- and post menopausal women with ovarian cysts.  In one study from the Chang Hai Hospital in Shanghai, China, 85 female patients with ovarian cysts were involved, with ages ranging from 27 to 64 years old (more than 50% of them between 34 and 45 years old).  Out of the 85, 40 cases were related to endometriosis (hyatidiform cyst), 44 cases were simple ovarian cysts…after 1 to 3 courses of the herbal formula, the cysts and symptoms of 15 patients completely cleared with no recurrence 3 months after the study.  In 34 patients, the size of the cyst reduced by 50% and some of the associated symptoms were relieved.”

Myomin is often suggested for those who are menopausal to post-menopausal because they are not producing as much natural estrogen; although, it can be used safely by women in their twenties, thirties, and forties.

One study involved men and women with fibrocystic breasts. In three of the five men in the study, their cysts cleared completely. In that same study, 65% of the women were under 35 years old, demonstrating that this herbal formula is not only limited to postmenopausal women.
