Vitalzym Extra Strength — World Nutrition

Liquid Systemic Enzymes for Whole-Body Support

Vitalzym® Extra Strength provides a powerful blend of systemic and digestive enzymes that support the body’s natural repair processes, healthy aging, mobility, immune function, circulation, and overall vitality. Enzymes are central to thousands of biological functions—from tissue recovery and inflammation balance to energy production and metabolic efficiency—and natural enzyme levels decline with age. Supplementing with systemic enzymes helps maintain these essential processes and promotes long-term wellness and resilience.†

Vitalzym Extra Strength helps support:

• Breakdown of excess proteins and tissue such as fibrin†
• Healthy inflammation response†
• Healthy immune system function†
• Joint comfort and mobility†
• Healthy blood circulation and viscosity†
• Healthy blood sugar levels already within the normal range†
• Efficient recovery after activity or exercise†
• Tissue repair and healthy aging†
• Reduction of unwanted fibrin and scar tissue†
• Balanced immune response†

Why Vitalzym Extra Strength Works So Well

Advanced Liquid-Enzyme Formula

Vitalzym Extra Strength is the world’s leading all-natural, vegetarian liquid enzyme formula, featuring a proprietary blend of:

• Serrapeptase
• Bromelain
• Papain
• Amylase
• Protease
• Lipase
• Rutin
• Amla Extract

These enzymes are suspended in MCT oil inside a unique enteric-coated liquid-gel softgel, available in 60, 180, and 360 count bottles. Vitalzym is the only systemic enzyme product using this advanced liquid-enteric delivery system, ensuring the enzymes survive stomach acid and reach the small intestine for optimal absorption.†

Each enzyme is included at a precise potency and ratio, chosen for its role in supporting a synergistic “cascade effect” that cannot be achieved with single-enzyme formulas.

Why Enzymes Matter

Enzymes govern nearly every function in the body. They support:

• Metabolism and energy production
• Immune regulation
• Liver and detoxification processes
• Blood viscosity and circulation
• Cellular repair and recovery
• Movement, stamina, and tissue health
• Digestion and nutrient absorption

Digestive enzymes are taken with meals to help break down food. Systemic enzymes, like Vitalzym, are taken on an empty stomach so they can be absorbed into the bloodstream and support whole-body processes.†

Aging and Enzyme Decline

Many experts believe our natural enzyme production begins to decline around age 27. Low enzyme levels may contribute to:

• Slower healing
• Less efficient recovery

• Increased inflammation
• Increased stiffness or discomfort
• Poor digestion
• Increased scarring or fibrosis
• Reduced energy and vitality
• More noticeable signs of aging

Supplementing with systemic enzymes can help maintain healthy enzyme levels, supporting the body’s natural repair and regenerative processes.†

Benefits of Vitalzym’s Advanced Delivery System

Vitalzym Extra Strength uses a state-of-the-art enteric-coated liquid softgel—the most effective delivery system for systemic enzymes.

KEY ADVANTAGES:

1. Enteric Coating for Maximum Protection

• Shields enzymes from stomach acid
• Ensures release in the small intestine (pH 6–8)
• Allows absorption when enzymes are at peak activity

2. Liquid Enzymes for Superior Consistency

• More uniform distribution of enzymes than dry powders
• No clumping, segregation, or inconsistent dosing
• Lower moisture for enhanced stability

3. Low-Heat Manufacturing

• Protects enzyme activity during production
• Avoids high compression heat used in tablets
• Helps maintain potency throughout the shelf life

4. Exceptional Stability

• Moisture removed through a special decompression process
• Maintains nearly 100% enzyme activity over time
• Designed for at least a 2-year shelf life when stored properly

Often referred to as the “king of the carotenoids,” astaxanthin is recognized for its strong antioxidant activity and its ability to help protect cells from oxidative stress.† Because astaxanthin integrates into cell membranes and helps support mitochondrial protection from oxidative stress, it provides antioxidant support for cellular health throughout the body.†

Key Benefits

• Helps protect cells from oxidative stress†
• Supports cellular health and membrane protection†
• Supports healthy cellular energy production†
• Supports normal inflammatory balance†
• Supports joint and connective tissue health†
• Supports cognitive function†

The Science Behind BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin

One of astaxanthin's most remarkable characteristics is its unique molecular structure. Unlike many antioxidants that primarily function in either water-soluble or fat-soluble environments, astaxanthin is able to integrate across the entire cell membrane, helping support antioxidant protection across both the water-soluble and fat-soluble portions of cells.†

This unique molecular structure also allows astaxanthin to help support healthy cellular function throughout the body. Because it can cross important biological barriers, including the blood-brain barrier and blood-retinal barrier, astaxanthin is able to provide antioxidant support throughout multiple tissues, including the brain, eyes, muscles, and skin.†

Astaxanthin has several unique characteristics that distinguish it from many other antioxidants:

• Integrates across the entire cell membrane
• Provides antioxidant protection across both the water-soluble and fat-soluble portions of cells
• Can cross important biological barriers such as the blood-brain barrier and blood-retinal barrier
• Helps support mitochondrial protection from oxidative stress
• Provides antioxidant support throughout multiple tissues of the body

Because of these unique properties, astaxanthin helps support healthy cellular function while providing antioxidant support throughout the body.†

Why Hawaiian Astaxanthin Is Unique

Hawaiian Astaxanthin is derived from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis, cultivated on the Kona Coast of Hawaii. Nutrex Hawaii produces farm-grown astaxanthin in the United States under carefully controlled conditions designed to ensure purity, potency, and sustainability.

The Kona Coast provides ideal growing conditions for microalgae, including abundant year-round sunlight, a stable tropical climate, and access to pure freshwater drawn from deep Hawaiian aquifers. These natural advantages allow Nutrex Hawaii to cultivate high-quality natural astaxanthin using environmentally responsible farming practices.

The Nutrex Hawaii microalgae farm is considered a BioSecure Zone, meaning it is free from harmful pesticides, herbicides, and genetically modified organisms. Their cultivation process is designed to protect both the environment and product quality while minimizing land impact and water waste.

Fresh water used in the cultivation process is naturally filtered through volcanic lava rock and drawn from pristine Hawaiian aquifers. Much of the water is recycled and returned to the growing ponds to conserve resources and support sustainable production.

These unique environmental conditions and cultivation practices help produce a carefully cultivated source of natural astaxanthin.

Natural vs Synthetic Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin exists in both natural and synthetic forms. Natural astaxanthin is produced by the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis, while synthetic astaxanthin is typically manufactured through chemical processes and is commonly used in aquaculture to color farmed salmon and other seafood.

Natural astaxanthin contains a complex mixture of stereoisomers and esterified forms that closely resemble the molecular structure of astaxanthin found in microalgae. These naturally occurring forms contribute to the stability and biological activity of natural astaxanthin when consumed as a dietary supplement.

In contrast, synthetic astaxanthin has a different stereoisomer profile and is primarily produced for use in animal feed rather than human dietary supplements. For this reason, natural astaxanthin derived from microalgae is generally preferred for nutritional supplementation.

Astaxanthin used in BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin is sourced from microalgae cultivated on the Kona Coast of Hawaii, providing astaxanthin in a form that closely resembles the astaxanthin found in nature.

Safety & Side Effects of Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin has been widely studied and is generally considered safe when taken at recommended doses. Reported side effects are typically mild and uncommon.

Possible mild effects may include:

• Slight change in skin pigmentation (a light orange tint)
• Orange-red coloration of stool at very high doses

Less common reported effects may include:

• Hair growth changes
• Minor hormonal changes
• Allergic reactions
• Decreased calcium levels
• Low blood pressure

As with any dietary supplement, individuals taking prescription medications should consult a healthcare professional before using this product.

About Nutrex Hawaii

Nutrex Hawaii was founded in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in 1990 by Dr. Gerald Cysewski, a recognized expert in microalgae and carotenoids. The company was established with a mission to explore the benefits of microalgae and support human health through nutritional supplementation.

Their microalgae farm is located on land carved from an ancient lava flow along the pristine Kona Coast of Hawaii’s Big Island. By combining scientific expertise with Hawaii’s unique natural environment, Nutrex Hawaii has become a leading producer of natural astaxanthin.

BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin has been available in the United States since 1999 and continues to be one of the most widely recognized natural astaxanthin supplements available today.

Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability

Nutrex Hawaii operates with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Their philosophy is to leave the land and surrounding environment in better condition than when they began operations.

The cultivation process is designed to minimize environmental impact, conserve water, and protect the natural resources of the Kona Coast. Their microalgae farm uses carefully managed freshwater resources, recycles water when possible, and avoids the use of harmful agricultural chemicals.

Products produced by Nutrex Hawaii are Non-GMO, BSE-free, and manufactured using environmentally responsible cultivation practices, giving consumers confidence in both product quality and environmental responsibility.

The Science Behind BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin

One of astaxanthin's most remarkable characteristics is its unique molecular structure. Unlike many antioxidants that function primarily in either water-soluble or fat-soluble environments, astaxanthin can integrate across the entire cell membrane, helping support antioxidant protection in both the water-soluble and fat-soluble portions of cells.†

This unique molecular structure also allows astaxanthin to help support healthy cellular function throughout the body. Because it can cross important biological barriers, including the blood-brain barrier and blood-retinal barrier, astaxanthin can provide antioxidant support throughout multiple tissues, including the brain, eyes, muscles, and skin.†
