Magnesium Citrate

Magnesium plays a vital role in energy production, muscle function, nerve signaling, and cardiovascular function. Many diets may not provide optimal intake. Magnesium Citrate offers an easily absorbed form of this essential mineral to support overall nutritional balance.†

Product Features

Magnesium Citrate provides a highly absorbable form of magnesium designed to support everyday wellness. As an essential mineral involved in more than 300 biochemical reactions, magnesium plays a key role in supporting normal cellular and metabolic function.†

Magnesium works in combination with calcium to support healthy cellular, tissue, and organ function and plays an important role in energy production.†

Among the various forms available, magnesium citrate is recognized for its high bioavailability. The combination of magnesium with citric acid supports efficient absorption, making it a practical option for supporting normal nerve and muscle function.†

Why Magnesium Is Often Lacking

Modern dietary patterns and food processing methods may reduce magnesium intake. In some cases, magnesium content can be diminished during refining and cooking processes, making it more challenging to meet daily needs through diet alone.

Magnesium is not always replenished in soils and can be reduced during food processing and preparation. For example, refined white sugar loses most of its magnesium during production, and much of the magnesium in wheat is removed during the refining of white flour. Magnesium is typically not added back into enriched flour, and foods such as fats, oils, and meats naturally contain very little magnesium.

Cooking vegetables in water can also reduce a portion of their natural magnesium content. Diets that rely more heavily on processed foods and fewer whole foods may further impact overall magnesium intake.

Supporting Adequate Magnesium Intake

Maintaining sufficient magnesium intake is important for supporting normal muscle function, nerve signaling, energy production, and overall wellness. Because magnesium is involved in many biological processes, consistent intake through diet and supplementation can help support overall nutritional balance.†
